TASS, Compass & ID Cards – What You Need to Know
As communicated earlier, Compass will remain the primary platform for students to access their instrumental lesson and ensemble times for now. However, the Music Department is preparing to transition to TASS in the near future.
Important: All instrumental and vocal students are required to have a College ID card.
These cards will be used to sign in and out of lessons using a new scanner system – think “tap on, tap off” like public transport. Please be patient as we work through any teething issues over the next few weeks.

Piano Lesson Vacancies – Rare Opportunity!
Our piano program is typically full, but we’re pleased to share that a small number of individual lesson spots have just become available. This is a rare opportunity for students to join one of our most popular programs.
Piano is a fantastic foundation instrument, whether your son is just starting his musical journey or adding a second instrument.

Other Instrument Availability
While percussion currently has a waiting list and guitar is nearly at full capacity, we have availability across all other instruments. If your son has ever shown an interest in music, now is the perfect time to start.
We offer tuition in the following:
Strings: Violin, viola, cello, double bass
Brass: Trumpet, trombone, euphonium, baritone, tuba
Woodwind: Flute, clarinet, bass clarinet, oboe, bassoon, alto/tenor/baritone saxophone
Other: Piano, guitar, electric bass, percussion, voice.

Join the Music Supporters Group (MSG)
The Music Supporters Group is a wonderful team of parents who meet once a term to help enhance the Iona Music experience for all students.
Involvement is flexible and might include:
- Helping at concerts
- Running the occasional BBQ
- Supporting fundraising efforts for resources, tours, or events
The next Music Supporters Group meeting is Week 2, Monday 21 July at 7pm.
