Marian Cup Netball
Tomorrow, netball makes its much-anticipated return to Iona College as the girls from Lourdes Hill College take on our boys in Oblate Hall from 4pm. This event is a highlight of our calendar, showcasing the camaraderie and strong connection between our two schools.
Lourdes Hill is expected to bring a large number of supporters, and we look forward to a game played in great sportsmanship and tradition.
Year 11 and 12 students are encouraged to join us for an afternoon of camaraderie and competition. Entry is just a gold coin donation, which also includes a sausage sizzle straight after school. All proceeds will go to support Rosies.
Don’t forget to register your attendance at Student Reception. Let’s show our support and cheer on our team in this wonderful tradition!
Old Boys Day 2025 - This Saturday

The annual Iona Old Boys Day and Reunion Dinner is almost here, offering a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with former classmates and celebrate the enduring spirit of the Iona community.
The day begins at 12.15pm with rugby and soccer matches against St Laurence’s College—a classic rivalry that always delivers excitement. Adding to the atmosphere, the Iona College Sports Band will be there to lead the cheers, bringing together current students and Old Boys in a musical supergroup. Former students with a talent for wind, brass, or percussion are invited to join this special ensemble by contacting ionamusic@iona.qld.edu.au
Following the games, a guided tour of Iona’s impressive facilities will commence at 3.30pm, showcasing developments such as The Provence Centre, Zinelli Building, and Marine Science Labs. The tour will be followed by Mass in the newly refreshed Chapel, which recently marked its 50th anniversary.
The day will conclude with dinner and drinks at Lindum-mere, a venue rich in history and now part of Iona’s evolving story.
This cherished event is a highlight of the College calendar and an ideal chance to strengthen connections and celebrate the shared bond of the Iona experience. We encourage you to reach out to your classmates and join us for a memorable day of camaraderie and community.
We look forward to welcoming you back.
