P&F March Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Parents and Friends Association will be held Monday 3 March, in Lindum-mere, commencing at 6.30pm.

There will be an opportunity for parents to join the meeting via Microsoft Teams, for those who can’t be there in person.

A link enabling parents to access the meeting will be posted on Compass on Monday afternoon.

I look forward to joining you then.

Community Organisations

Iona College is proud to support the community organisations that support us, our students and families.

Parent volunteers for Blue Care

Blue Care is in urgent need of community volunteers to assist in the coffee shop at the Wynnum Aged Care facility.

This coffee shop does not serve the public, but is a service for residents, their families and visitors, with proceeds going towards additional palliative care and physiotherapy services, as well as specialised medical equipment.

The coffee shop operates from Wednesday to Friday from 8am to 1pm. Full training will be provided, with responsibilities including taking orders, processing payments, food preparation and table service.

If you are able to help and give back to the local community by volunteering your time, please contact Linda Driscoll at l.driscoll@bluecare.org.au / 0416 178 560.

Rugby union

Iona has a long-standing partnership with the Wynnum Rugby Union Club, and we are pleased that this relationship is continuing in 2025.

The Bugs are looking for more players for their junior teams – particularly in the Under-14s team (players born in 2011).

No experience is necessary. If you are interested, contact Josh via juniorvp@wynnumrugby.com.au for more details.

Football / Soccer

The Capalaba Bulldogs Football Club is looking for players to join their Under-14 (born 2011) and Under-15 (born 2010) FQAL Academy teams for the upcoming season.

Send your expression of interest to youthtd@capalababulldogs.com
